The 2023 Edition Of The Headies Is Now Accepting Submissions

For its 2023 edition, The Headies issues a request for contributions. The Headies Awards, first established in 2004 as the Hip Hop World Awards, have significantly contributed to developing and recognizing Nigerian music, making them the nation’s top musical honor. As the award prepares to enter its 16th edition, The Headies announced the announcement for entries for the 2023 edition on May 22.

Songs and projects released between January 2022 and March 2023 will be eligible for nominations for the year under review. The submission window will close on Friday, June 16, 2023.

The 15th Headies, which marked the first time the award left Nigeria, were held in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States, scheduled to be followed by the 2023 Headies. The Headies Awards have become a key indicator of success in Nigerian music since they were founded in 2004. The Headies is a music awards ceremony created in 2006 by the Nigerian Hip Hop World Magazine to honor outstanding accomplishments in the country’s music sector.

At the yearly ceremony, both well-known and up-and-coming performers perform. Many of Nigeria’s biggest stars have won the prize, with Olamide, Wizkid, and M.I. Abaga emerging as the top three winners. The 2023 edition is likely to be fiercely competitive, just like previous years, notably for the Next Rated Prize, which has been the most contentious in the awards’ history.
