Gunna Continues To Speak On YSL Snitching Allegations

Gunna, a well-known American rapper, has been intensely scrutinized since his release from prison and the subsequent allegations of snitching. In a recent interview with XXL magazine, Gunna discussed his legal troubles and the fallout within the hip-hop community. Gunna was charged with one count of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, which resulted in a seven-month stint in Fulton County Jail in Georgia. However, Gunna invoked the Alford plea, which sparked controversy, with many accusing him of snitching. Lil Durk, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby were among the few who criticized and perpetuated the snitch narrative.

In the XXL interview, Gunna expressed his feelings that people have been misled and highlighted the importance of discernment and critical thinking. He encouraged people to exercise independent judgment and emphasized that the rush to judgment often lacks the necessary context to understand the situation’s complexities. Gunna also pointed out that no rappers criticized the case and didn’t legally understand what was happening.

Additionally, Gunna released his latest single, “Prada Dem,” with Offset, refuting the allegations of snitching. The single has been well-received, and Gunna is optimistic about his future in the music industry. Towards the end of the XXL interview, Gunna expressed his satisfaction with the success of his latest album, “A Gift & A Curse,” and his single “F*kumean,” which have been topping the charts. When asked about the vindication he felt from his success, Gunna responded positively, indicating that he was looking forward to the future.

“it’s more or less just me tryin’ to just get back in that space of creating and being the best artist that my fans know of. That’s why it happened, because of them. They came through. Those were the fans before I put out A Gift & A Curse. The fans that went to the New York show and the L.A. show were day-one fans. Those are core Gunna fan base. I couldn’t have done it without them. So, I feel like the music comes after. The foundation has been set. I just gotta follow up to keep giving them what they want.”
