Juneteenth 2023: Davido Delivers Thrilling Performance With US Vice President Kamala Harris In Attendance

Award-winning singer Davido stole the scene at the Juneteenth 2023 event with a stunning performance in front of Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris and other notables. The event was held to honor “Juneteenth,” a celebration that honors the abolition of slavery in the United States.

 

On Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, top international acts, including Miguel, Jodeci, Coi Leray, and many more, performed. Live Nation Urban and Jesse Collins Entertainment sponsored the event broadcast live on CNN. O.B.O. received a standing ovation from the audience before entering the stage after being summoned, and they erupted into a loud yell upon his arrival. The master of Afrobeats performed several of his biggest singles, including Feel and Unavailable, from his fourth studio album, “Timeless,” in an enthralling performance. He also played hit songs from earlier albums, such as “Fall.”

Since President Biden granted Juneteenth official status in 2021, Americans have been commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black people by celebrating it over the last weekend. Following protests in 2020 over the police shootings of Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and other African Americans, it gained popularity.
