Showmax Rebrands; Set To Release New Exciting Originals Starting December
Marc Jury, CEO of Showmax, commented on the rebranding:

Agu, a Nigerian judicial drama; Trompoppie, a murder mystery series set in the competitive milieu of secondary school; and Sports Wives, a reality series, are among the titles on the schedule.Showmax is also adding second seasons of the record-breaking reality series Adulting, the Nigerian blockbuster drama Wura, and the return of The Mommy Club. Twende, an animated film in 2D about an adorable pangolin that drives a boda-boda, centres on an astounding bromance.
The platform will also release new episodes of its groundbreaking CANAL+ co-production Spinners, the first African show ever selected for the Cannes series, every Wednesday until December 27, in addition to these intriguing additions. Showmax’s relaunch includes these new initiatives and a fully updated logo and corporate identity. Showmax is preparing for its biggest year, only eight years since breaking the African streaming industry. It returns in February 2024 with a new style, app, and service package.
Showmax will feature a steady stream of popular programming from Universal Pictures, NBC, Peacock, Sky, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, Banijay, BBC, eOne Fremantle, HBO, ITV, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Bros. after the new Comcast deal. The Super Mario Bros. Movie Fast X, Poker Face, and the King Arthur epic, The Winter King, are just a few of the international titles anticipated to rise among streamers in the coming year.
