Tekno Set To Release Sophomore Album “The More The Better”

A New Chapter in the Journey of the Afrobeats Star

Multitalented Afrobeats star, Tekno, is gearing up to release his second studio album, titled “The More The Better.” This announcement comes as a significant milestone in the artist’s career, marking his return to the album format after his debut album “Old Romance,” which was released in 2020.

Tekno, whose real name is Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, has been a fan favorite in Nigeria since the 2010s. He made a name for himself with his breakout single “Holiday” with Davido. Over the years, Tekno has released a slew of singles and has been featured in a wide range of songs, both domestically and internationally. Notably, he was featured on Beyoncé’s “The Lion King: The Gift” album on the track “Don’t Jealous Me.”

Scheduled for release on September 1, 2023, “The More The Better” is already generating anticipation among fans. The album will include 13 songs, with a total duration of 37 minutes, as indicated on Apple Music. The pre-release of the album is already available, with the single “Peppermint” available for listeners to preview. Another track, “Peace of Mind,” has also been released as part of the album’s promotion.

Overcoming Challenges

In a recent conversation with Afrobeats Intelligence, as reported by Pulse.ng, Tekno revealed that he experienced nine months of voice loss caused by acid reflux following vocal cord surgery. He also navigated a challenging label deal that demotivated his musical pursuits. Despite these challenges, Tekno is poised to make a strong comeback with this album.

With “The More The Better,” Tekno aims to solidify his place as a leading figure in the Afrobeats scene, showcasing his evolution as an artist. This album is not just a collection of songs; it represents Tekno’s resilience and his commitment to his craft, despite the hurdles he has faced in recent years.
