Tems Is Geared Up To Close The Year With A New Single
Afrobeats sensation, Temilade Openiyi, popular as Tems, hasn’t been very active lately. Earlier this year, she dropped a new tune called “Me & U,” but it was her first in two years! However, things have accelerated as of the last quarter of this year.
After releasing the earlier-mentioned song “Me & U” in October, Tems announced on Tuesday, December 5, that she will be putting out yet another new song shortly, called “Not An Angel.”
Tems posted a grainy image of herself on social media that appears to be the cover art for the forthcoming song, which features her squatting down and tilting toward the wall while her flowing hair shades her face. According to the post, this Friday, December 8, is when the song will be released.
Even though Tems didn’t release many new releases in 2023, she did have a few significant moments. For Future’s chart-topper, “Wait For U,” featuring Drake, and her, she won the Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance. She also responded to swirling social media rumours that she was expecting Future’s child in September with a straightforward statement.
Although Tems still hasn’t released a full-length album, it’s almost certain that one is on the road given the release of her two new end-of-year singles.
