The Black Crowes Set To Release New Album Since 2009

The famous Georgian rock group The Black Crowes will return with their tenth studio album, “Happiness Bastards.” The album, which will be published on March 15th by the band’s record label, Silver Arrow Records, is their first album of original material in fifteen years. The album’s opening single, “Wanting and Waiting,” and the 10-song “Happiness Bastards” tracklist are already available. Award-winning producer Jay Joyce, who has collaborated with a number of well-known musicians, produced the album. On “Wilted Rose,” country vocalist Lainey Wilson also contributes, giving the band’s sound a new direction. The album was recorded by the Black Crowes in early 2023, featuring Joyce and veteran bassist Sven Pipien.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of their debut album, “Shake Your Money Maker,” The Black Crowes went on tour in the summer of 2020. Released in 1990, the album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and included the two biggest songs for the group, a rendition of “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding and the original ballad “She Talks to Angels.” The Robinson brothers performed “Shake Your Money Maker” every night while travelling across North America. “Before the Frost… Until the Freeze,” a two-part project released in 2009, was the Black Crowes’ final studio album. The band hopes to stay loyal to its origins while releasing a new and exciting sound with “Happiness Bastards,” their latest album. The album’s release is highly anticipated by fans, who are excited to hear what the band has in store for them.

Chris Robinson, the lead singer of Black Crowes, stated in the press release,

Happiness Bastards is our love letter to rock’n’roll,”

“Rich and I are always writing and creating music; that has never stopped for us, and it is always where we find harmony together. This record represents that.”

Rich Robinson added:

“This album is a continuation of our story as a band. Our years of experience writing and making music and touring the world are represented in this record, and we were brilliantly guided by one of the best producers in the business, Jay Joyce. I am incredibly proud of what we put together.”
