Trace Awards: D’Banj And Maria Borges To Host Inaugural Awards In Rwanda

The first Trace Africa Music Awards will be held in Rwanda, and legendary Afrobeats musician D’Banj will host the ceremony. The first Trace Awards will be hosted by D’Banj and Angolan supermodel Maria Borges on October 21, 2023, at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. Supermodel Maria Borges of Angola and Nigerian singer D’banj will add sophistication to the celebration of African music.

African talent and Afro-music will be honoured at the Trace Music Awards. To commemorate the accomplishments and brilliance of the African music business, Trace, in collaboration with Pepsi, Martell Nigeria, Fly Rwanda Air, and BK Arena, brings together African and African diaspora musicians. A wide range of African-inspired music genres, including Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, R&B, Rumba, and many more, will be featured during the award ceremony. Trace TV will broadcast the award ceremony.

Superstars from Nigeria, including Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Nissi, Davido, Asake, Burna Boy, and Rema, have received many nominations. In the race for Best Male Artist, Asake, Davido, Rema, and Burna Boy are pitted against Diamond Platnumz, Didi B, and K.O. Davido, Asake, Bamby, Yemi Alade, Benjamin Dube, Black Sherif, Blxckie, Bruce Melodie, Bwiza, Didi B, Distinct, Janet Otieno, Josey, Kalash, and Kizz Daniel (Nigeria) are among the performers scheduled to appear.
