Dbanj And Davido Share “Baba Ibeji” Moment At Trace Awards; Fans React To Video

As he greeted the DMW leader at the Trace Awards, Nigerian artist Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name Dbanj, made headlines for dancing and calling his buddy and fellow performer Davido “Baba Ibeji.” Since the newborn’s birth announcement, Davido has remained in the public eye for good reasons. This kind gesture was made in reaction to the announcement that Davido had recently welcomed twins in the US. At the Trace Awards, D’banj gave Davido his heartfelt compliments, and the duo shared a moment there as Dbanj prepared to go on stage. D’Banj and international supermodel Maria Borges of Angola co-hosted the awards ceremony. Davido, Yemi Alade, Black Sherif, Kizz Daniel, and other notable performers were among the fantastic line-up.

The Trace Awards, a platform to honour the inventiveness, brilliance, and impact of African and Afro-inspired music and artists, took place in Kigali, Rwanda. The event brought together a diverse range of musicians, producers, and industry professionals from across the continent to celebrate and recognize the contributions of African music to the global stage. With electrifying performances and thought-provoking discussions, the Trace Awards showcased the rich cultural heritage and artistic talent that continue to shape the music industry in Africa.

The media had earlier announced the happy news of Davido’s twins’ arrival in the US, where he was recently spotted in a video alongside his father, wife, and the infant twins. Davido acknowledged the remarkable nature of losing one child and getting two just months apart. He expressed his thoughts by saying,

“It is very hard. A lot of people that those things happened to you would never want to believe in God in your life. But to still have faith and do what I love, having a great team around me; I was just focusing.”

“Now we are almost at the finish line, and this is a story I want people to see and watch. When me and my wife found out that we were having twins, we were shaking. Then it was in the same month.” “My son died last year in October, and my wife gave birth this year in October, so it is crazy.”
