Trey Songz Resolves A $25M Lawsuit Over An Alleged Sexual Assault From 2016

An unidentified lady filed a lawsuit against American singer, Trey Songz, in February of last year, alleging that he had sexually assaulted her. The woman, who went by Jane Joe, stated that she first met the singer at a Los Angeles nightclub and that year they went to a home party together.

When Trey Songz led her upstairs—the scene of the alleged sexual assault—the evening took a turn for the worse. In her lawsuit, Trey Songz also named 300 Entertainment, Kevin Lilies, her manager, and Atlantic Records as defendants. They reportedly reached a settlement recently, however the sum is yet unknown.

The alleged victim first demanded $25 million in compensation for the incident’s psychological and emotional damage. Their September hearing date was canceled because of the settlement, which prevented them from showing up in court. Although Trey Songz refuted the allegations on social media last year, it is still unclear if he acknowledged guilt as a requirement of the settlement.

Unfortunately, Trey Songz has been accused of assault by other women before. Winter Blanco accused him of abusing her in 2018 when she spoke up about it on an episode of Behind The Likes just last month. For the benefit of her career, she disclosed, she decided to remain silent.
