“Vampire” By Olivia Rodrigo Soars High On The Official U.K. Charts

“Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo (through Geffen) sinks its teeth into the UK singles chart. The pop-rock song, which debuted at No. 2, is Rodrigo’s fifth top-ten hit in the United Kingdom, joining two previous entries. Rodrigo broke a slew of records when she declared her presence in the pop music world with 2021’s Sour.

Rodrigo became the youngest solo artist in history to achieve the Official U.K. Chart double with the release of “Good 4 U,” at the age of 18 years and three months. The Grammy Award winner’s debut album also set a new record for the most first-week streams for a debut album in the United Kingdom, and she is the first female solo artist to have three simultaneous top 5 singles in the United Kingdom with “Good 4 U,” “Deja Vu,” and “Traitor.”

The Official Charts Company says that following a close race at the top of the charts, Dave and Central Cee’s “Sprinter” finds the strength to defeat “Vampire” and win for the fifth time in a row. According to the OCC, “Sprinter” compiles a market-leading 8 million or more streams. J Hus and Drake’s “Who Told You” down 2-3 rounds out the top 3.

Four years after its debut, Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” (EMI) is still burning up the U.K. chart. With a rise of 12-6, the album track from The Lover enters the U.K. top 10 for the first time.
