Klay Alexander Thompson, a professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA), was born in the United States on February 8, 1990. He is highly recognized as one of the best three-point shooters in NBA history. Thompson has won four NBA championships with the Warriors. He is a five-time NBA All-Star, has been selected to the NBA All-NBA Third Team twice, and once to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. Additionally, he won gold medals with the American national team on their Olympic and World Cup squads in 2016 and 2014, respectively.

Golden State selected him with the 11th overall choice in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft.
