Neymar Biography
Born on February 5, 1992, to Neymar da Silva Santos Sr. and Nadine da Silva in Mogi das Cruzes, So Paulo, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was raised a Christian. His former footballer father gave him the name, and as Neymar’s abilities developed, he was appointed his son’s advisor. Neymar played street football and futsal for fun when he was little. Due to financial constraints in his family, Neymar could not attend college and had to concentrate solely on his football career while he was of schooling age. He just attended a local elementary school in Lupe Picasso. Neymar claimed that futsal significantly impacted him growing up and helped him improve his technique, cognitive process, and ability to move in confined places.
Neymar relocated to So Vicente with his family in 2003, when he started competing for the Portuguesa Santista youth team. They eventually relocated to Santos in 2003, where Neymar signed a contract. With the help of his lucrative youth career and more cash, the family was able to purchase their first home, a house close to Santos’ home stadium, Vila Belmiro. As Neymar’s income increased from 10,000 reais per month at age 15 to 125,000 reais per month at age 16, their quality of family life improved. He earned his first full-time professional contract at age 17, was promoted to the Santos first squad, and started securing his first sponsorships. Neymar practices Pentecostal Christianity and identifies as a Christian.
