Fat Joe Teams Up With Zoey Dollaz To Provide Haiti With Humanitarian Aid

Together with Food For The Poor, Fat Joe and Zoey Dollaz are bringing desperately needed humanitarian help to the beleaguered nation of Haiti.

In accordance with a news statement issued on Thursday, May 2, the collaboration will create a relief fund that will offer assistance and basic necessities to households impacted by the nation’s most recent humanitarian catastrophe, which was sparked by the island nation’s nearly three years of civil strife.

Axios reports that Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigned from office on April 25 due to the rising number of violent incidents on the island nation. After then President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated in July 2021, Henry came into power. Under his direction, there has been an increase in gang violence in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.

On March 4, there was a jail break at Haiti’s National Penitentiary, which, according to CNN, made it possible for roughly 3500 of the facility’s 3687 inmates to escape. After the nation’s authorities proclaimed a state of emergency, Henry resigned and the process of appointing a provisional council to try to stabilize Port-au-Prince moved slowly.

However, the capital’s international airport and seaport are still closed as of this writing. Furthermore, the import of commercial items and the delivery of humanitarian relief have been seriously disrupted, even if smaller airports are operating in the cities of Cap-Haitien to the north and Les Cayes to the south.
