Alicia Keys Celebrates Receiving Numerous Tony Award Nominations

Multiple Grammy award-winning American vocalist, Alicia Keys, is ecstatic to have received word that her Broadway production Hell’s Kitchen has received 13 TONY Award nominations.

Swizz Beatz documented his wife’s excitement upon learning of the nominations in an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 1. She opened a large bottle of champagne around seven in the morning. The post featured the previously mentioned video along with other pictures of Alicia popping bottles at 7 a.m. with the statement, “13 TONY Nominations is worthy of popping a bottle at 7am.”

Beginning on January 14 of last year, Hell’s Kitchen was presented at the Public Theater. The show moved to Broadway’s Shubert Theater on March 28 for previews, with an opening night scheduled for April 20. The celebrated vocalist wrote the lyrics and handled the music for the performance, while Kristoffer Diaz wrote the book.

Along with music, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s art collection is slated to be published as a sizable coffee table book in tandem with a Brooklyn Museum exhibition. In June of this year, the two will publish Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys under the Phaidon Books banner.

Kimberli Gant, the Brooklyn Museum’s Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, conducted an interview with the long-married couple for the book as well.
