Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, better known by his stage as Iyanya, has taken issue with a social media user who undervalued his musical accomplishments while talking about fellow musician Wizkid’s standing in the music business.

A user going by the handle @itzbasito posted on Twitter, sparking the exchange: “Wizkid’s only crime is surpassing the benchmark set for him and becoming the benchmark himself.”

Reposting the statement, @Xperience_Snr, another user implied that Wizkid was expected to outperform musicians such as Samklef and Iyanya. The suggestion that Iyanya’s career fell short of his aspirations was met with a violent response, “You will end up like your father.” This response highlights the singer’s anger at the analogy.
