Sexyy Red “Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe)” Album Review

Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe Edition)

The second part of Sexyy Red’s album “Hood Hottest Princess,” which was published earlier this summer, has been released.

“Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe),” albeit her raw, lilted effect makes the verbal delivery appear almost casual over strong trap stutters and pulsating 808, is a demonstration of crystal-clear rapping, superb production, and, if somewhat formulaic, track beats that still bang from the early 2000s.

Along with R&B singer Summer Walker, the expanded album has cameos by street rapper high rollers including Chief Keef, G Herbo, 42 Dugg, and Sukihana.

Red, over a pink backdrop, squats in her scanty bad bitch outfit; with the flowing grey hair extensions, and long, laced wedges to match, she sticks out her tongue and clutches her chest. If thirst trap was an album cover, this would be it.

Additional Tracks and Features

“Sexyy Red for President” begins the deluxe edition of her debut album. Losing no time, Sexyy goes off on her haters, stunting on them by bragging about her expensive possessions and street cred. At the end of the day, Red crowns herself prez over “these hoes.” The beat has a nice bounce to it, and the femcee kept the flows hard and simple, while feeling herself throughout the record.

Big Sexyy declares on “Ghetto Princess” that she is in fact, SHE. She returns to pressing the necks of all the jealous-ass hoes with her mean flows that help them understand just how much she does not care a hoot about them. Then Chief Keef steps in and blows the party right through the roof, literally rapping his butt off!

He almost makes Sexyy look like the featured artist with the wild energy he barges in with. The only downside to his verse is that it became too long and you would notice this because of the monotony of his flow. A banger, all in all. Oh, and Mike WiLL Made-It went crazy on this beat.

The EarDrummers label head takes up production again in “Perfect Match,” in which Red invites her popping rapper buddies, 42 Dugg and G Herbo. The track is more like a warning that it is a love song or this is probably what they call “hood love.” Red scares thirsty women off her man before they can even make their move, swearing to make life miserable for anyone who tries to mess with her hood boyfriend, who she believes is the ying to her yang. The rappers pull their weight too, going steady with hard flows in both their verses.

Giving off a more romantic vibe in “I Might,” Sexyy calls on the talented R&B singer, Summer Walker, who shows up and makes everything better. Over the help of the melodious instrumental, Red takes us on a trip and describes how much she loves being with her lover and how she always has him running back for more after each savory taste. Summer totally understands the assignment and delivers a soulful chorus filled with emotions that are almost palpable to your ears.

For “I Don’t Wanna Be Saved” Red teams up with Tay Keith, the same producer that blessed her with the beat for her breakout hit, “Pound Town.” Putting her own spin on Crunchy Black and Project Pat’s 2001 classic, “Don’t Save Her,” she boldly tells everyone who cares to listen that she is far gone, beyond redemption.

So, it’s in the best interest of any dude who decides to roll with her not to bother with trying to rehabilitate or even trust her because she vows to break your heart and trust. And later in her second verse, the picture becomes clearer when she discloses that a horrible heartbreak she experienced when she was 16 completely changed her and not for the better. However, she brazenly owns who she is because it is an uphill task to shame the shameless.

Album Theme

In-between dumping turds on her haters and celebrating her new social status as a successful artist, she also squeezes in a little vulnerability.
