The enigmatic director Perlinks’ official music video paints a vibrant vision that vividly illustrates the soothing yet kind lyrics of the song. Situated in the “trenches” of Lagos, Joeboy contends with a pre-marital pregnancy that is all too common. Yet, in a surprising turn of events, Joeboy rises to the occasion, accepts responsibility, and supports his love interest throughout.

The visual was released on March 8, 2023, and lasts three minutes and Fourteen Seconds. Joeboy went solo on this hit, as he didn’t feature anyone. Released under the EmPaWa Label, the Afro-Pop track had already begun gaining traction even before talks of a visual were contemplated. This video will go a long way to attract more attention to this fantastic track.

And despite his recent great strides, Joeboy hasn’t been without his controversies. In 2022, Joeboy received a copyright infringement notification from singer Bukola Elemide, popularly known as Asa, in October about his released song “Contour.”

Asa claimed that she and the song’s producer, “Tempoe,” first recorded the song’s composition in September 2020 during a recording session. On October 3, 2022, Asa sent a letter to Joeboy through her legal counsel in which she requested N300 million and issued a 24-hour deadline for the song to be taken down from all digital streaming services. Joeboy shared this notice on his Instagram story. In addition, as indicated in the statement, Asa requested a written apology and a 60 percent copyright split on the song through her manager. The duo has since come to an understanding, though, as the matter seems to have been resolved.

Fans will hope that he has put all these behind and is ready to continue firing and dropping back-to-back hits as he used to be accustomed to.
