Metro Boomin Wants A Collab With Eminem

Eminem, the iconic rapper from Detroit, has recently announced that his anticipated comeback album, The Death of Slim Shady, will be released in the summer. The timing of this announcement couldn’t have been better, as hip-hop has seen a commercial resurgence in 2024, and the feud between Drake and other famous artists in the genre has undoubtedly contributed to this. One of the artists involved in this feud is the prolific producer Metro Boomin, who thinks he would be an excellent addition to Slim Shady’s new album and has expressed his strong desire to collaborate with him. In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) after Eminem released the teaser for his latest album, Metro didn’t hold back and wrote, “Somebody, please tell Eminem I’m tryna lock-in,” along with three lock emojis.

Metro has been one of the most influential artists in the genre for a decade now, and his admiration for Eminem is no secret. In the past, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to excite Shady’s 2011 BET cypher, and he even envisioned creating a “dream” album featuring all the rap stars of the early 2000s, with Eminem being one of his top picks. He wants to experiment and work with new artists, which he considers a vital part of his duty as a producer. While Eminem has remained tight-lipped about his latest album’s status, hip-hop fans would be keen to hear what he can do over a sizzling Metro Boomin instrumental.

Despite their vastly different sounds, Metro admires Eminem’s work and Dr. Dre’s 2001 album, which inspired his album Heroes & Villains. He believes that he can create great songs and bring something new by working with new artists. It will be interesting to see if Metro and Eminem will collaborate on The Death of Slim Shady and what kind of music they will create together. Speculation is rife that Eminem may collaborate with none other than Metro Boomin on his forthcoming album. Eminem has been known to experiment with his sound in recent years. His 2018 album Kamikaze featured production from contemporary beat makers such as Tay Keith, Ronny J, and Mike Will Made It. The album went on to achieve platinum status, indicating that the change in direction was a resounding success.
