Arsenal Unveils Declan Rice With Odumodublvck’s Hit Record

Arsenal fans can now rest easy knowing that the team has officially announced the acquisition of English midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham for a club record fee—the most ever paid to a British player. To add some spice, Rice’s presentation will include a Nigerian song with the same name.

Rice became a top priority for Arsenal after they were unsuccessful in their pursuit of Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo in January after Brighton turned down several offers totaling £70 million. The East London club claimed it was more, but West Ham chairman David Sullivan announced the player would leave after helping the team win the UEFA Europa Conference League and put a price tag of £110 million on him.

However, The Athletic reports that the deal was finalized for a guaranteed £100 million plus $5 million in add-ons. An official announcement was postponed despite a deal being reached more than two weeks ago and the player being present at London Colney for his medicals; it was asserted that the lengthy delay was caused by preparing the necessary paperwork.

In an example of the club’s innovation and style, the song “Declan Rice,” by Nigerian singer Odumodublvck, was featured in the revealing of the star player.

After the song went viral and the England international became interested in it, the musician and the player met in London a few months ago.
