Ayra Starr’s South African Show Called Off Due To Visa Issues

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr, will sadly no longer be visiting South Africa for her In The City show. The “Rush” hit-maker and her group were reportedly refused visas, according to the organizers, and her South African fans are not happy about this.

The singer was scheduled to play at the In the City music event in South Africa. Working with Steyn Entertainment, Flying Fish, the official title sponsor of the music festival, unveiled “Ayra Starr and Friends.” Sadly, the highly anticipated South African exhibition has been canceled by the organizers.

Only a few days before the event, the Nigerian sensation and her entourage had their visas denied, which led to this choice. Venues for the “In The City” concert were set to be in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Due to this setback, the event that was originally planned for February 16 and 17, 2024, had to be canceled.

The organizers conveyed their dissatisfaction, stating that after multiple attempts, Ayra and her crew were not successful in obtaining the required visas.

There were also other well-known stars scheduled to appear, including Grammy Award-nominated singer Musa Keys, Una Rams, and Daliwonga. Even though Ayra Starr has only been in the business for three years, she has already helped to change the perception of female musicians in Nigeria, and has no plans of slowing down.
