Burna Boy Bags Four Nominations At This Year’s Edition Of BET’s Soul Train Awards

Celebrating the finest in R&B and Soul music, the prestigious Soul Train Awards 2023 have just announced four nominations for Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, Burna Boy, the self-proclaimed African Giant. In the “Album of the Year” category, Burna’s latest studio album, “I Told Them…” got a nod.

While “Sittin’ On Top Of The World”  his collaboration with 21 Savage receives two nods; “The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award” and “Best Collaboration,” he goes up against established musicians like Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Usher for the “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist” prize.

With nine nominations each, SZA, Usher, and Summer Walker are the front-runners at the 2023 Soul Train Awards. 21 Savage receives eight nominations, trailing the three co-leaders. With six nominations each, Coco Jones and Victoria Monét are caught in a tie, followed by Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Janelle Monáe, and October London, who each get four nominations.

Additionally, there are some prominent figures among the nominations, but the majority are young, up-and-coming stars. The event is scheduled to tape from Los Angeles at a location that hasn’t yet been made public. The awards show, which will be broadcast on BET and BET Her, will take place on November 26, 2023.

Along with Jeannae Rouzan–Clay and Dionne Harmon from Jesse Collins Entertainment, Jesse Collins, the CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment, will be serving as executive producer.
