Willie Nelson Marks His 91st Birthday With A New Track

Legendary American singer, Willie Nelson, just turned 91, and decided to turn up with the release of a new single.

The second advanced single off Willie Nelson’s next studio album The Border, “Made in Texas,” has been published by Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings. Nelson fits well into “Made in Texas,” a song written by Shawn Camp and Monty Holmes. As Nelson was born in Texas on April 29, 1933, the song’s release provides a wonderful way to commemorate his 91st birthday.

Nelson’s perceptive rendition of Rodney Crowell and Allen Shamblin’s “The Border” is the album’s title track, and it is accessible now in addition to “Made in Texas.” Digital, CD, and black vinyl versions of the album will be accessible starting on May 31st.

Two limited-edition vinyl versions will also be available; Nelson’s D2C store will sell a package that includes a 12-by-12-inch designed lyric book with the album artwork, extensive listening notes written by renowned writer Peter Blackstock, and photos taken by Pamela Springsteen, while Barnes & Noble will sell a pressed-on orange vinyl version.

According to Texas Monthly’s interactive All Willie Nelson Albums Ranked list, The Border is the country legend’s 152nd album. It includes ten recently recorded studio performances, including four brand-new Willie Nelson/Buddy Cannon compositions. In addition, The Big Bend region separating Texas and Mexico is seen on the cover image of The Border.
