Corps Members And Others Are Arrested By JAMB For Registration Violations
JAMB Registrar: Over 789 students have been impersonated thus far
Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry examination registration violations for 2023 have been discovered, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, and the JAMB 2023 Registration Monitoring Team were in Kano State when they discovered some registration officers violating registration rules at authorized Computer-Based Test Centers.
One of the offenders was a corps member working at the Federal College of Education in Kano who was employed as a registration officer by the College PTDF-ICT CBT Center.
The Butale Information Technology CBT Center squad captured four other registration officials.
The people who were detained will be profiled and, if required, charged.
The team also suspended four vendors of e-PINs in Lagos for extorting candidates.
According to Prof. Oloyede, 789 students were impersonated during the registration process. He also stressed that studying hard and following the proper procedures were the only ways to succeed in the UTME.
There will be no extensions to the one-month registration period for this year’s UTME, which ends on February 14.
