Today, Compton’s emotive assassin Wallie The Sensei returns with the intense, emotionally complex single “Homi.” “Homi” follows Wallie’s recent “Ghetto Lullaby” and July’s critically acclaimed project, the instant street classic, GOLDEN CHILD.
“Homi” is one of the most gripping tracks Wallie has penned to date, exploring the emotional toll that death, crime, and poverty have had on him and his community. “Feel like the tension in my city is so real, it’s like we all in jail and end up getting killed,” he croons over smooth, acoustic guitar. Wallie is equally blunt about his role in the chaos that surrounds him: “Why we kill so much, I just don’t understand/If guns is instruments I’m tryna lead the band.”
