Davido Gearing Up To Debut His Highly-Anticipated New Single, “Flex My Soul”

Afrobeats musician, Davido, is preparing to make his much-awaited single debut on the Billboard X Honda stage. The Grammy nominee, who is well-known for his Afrobeats music, reflects on his path in a recent interview with Billboard. For more than ten years, he has been at the vanguard of exporting African music.

Afrobeats has gained global attention, and Davido discussed his journey into music in the behind-the-scenes film “Davido Welcomes All to His World of Music Honda Stage X Billboard” released by Billboard. The hit-maker claims that the parties his mother used to throw were the reason for his initial interest in music.

He also disclosed that his cousins had released one of his songs prior to his return to Nigeria, and that when he returned, he decided to go all in with making music. Prior to transitioning into singing, Davido began his career as a producer. Moreover, despite his lack of artistic ambition, he never imagined that his first single would make him a household name.

Regarding his debut song, “Back When,” which he co-produced with Naeto C, Davido also talks about how much he enjoys working with other artists and bringing them into his world. Along with discussing his previously teased track “Flex My Soul,” Davido also discusses it in the interview. Apparently slated to perform on the Billboard Honda Stage, he alluded to a female cameo appearance on the track.
