D’banj Plays “Benefactor,” Gifts Viral “$1 Woman” N2 Million Naira In His House

The well-known Nigerian musician, D’banj, recently won the admiration of many on social media by showing kindness to an older woman whose interview about spending only $1 had gone viral.

During a Vox pop segment, a radio personality and content creator named Kasnaty visited a local marketplace and asked traders what they would do if they won a $1 lottery. Some market women responded outrageously due to their lack of knowledge about the dollar’s value in naira.

In the viral video, a woman was asked how she would spend $1 if given that amount. The elderly lady confidently expressed her plan to use the dollar to complete her building project and care for her children, unaware of the actual value of $1 in naira. After the clip was posted and went viral, D’Banj showed interest and requested that she be found so he could meet her and bless her with cash. The artiste admired how she detailed her plans to spend the money.

D’banj stumbled upon a Twitter video showcasing an older woman’s aspirations and found it amusing. He expressed his desire to meet her and took to his Twitter account to seek assistance from his followers in locating her.

He wrote;

“Help me find this woman, i love how she wants to use her $1 WIN. I go like bless her. I wan to “Gbe’”

Later, D’banj went on Twitter to update his followers that he had successfully located the lady. Social media videos showed the touching moment when the older adult and her son visited D’banj at home. During the encounter, the musician admired the woman’s determination to provide for her children by carrying a dollar.
