Drake’s Mention In XXXTentacion’s Murder

One of the musicians mentioned as a potential witness by Dedrick Williams’ defense team less than two months ago has now been summoned to court. Williams is one of the three defendants accused of killing XXXtentacion. Defense lawyer Mauricio Padilla believes the Certified Lover Boy superstar is connected to XXX’s death due to a beef between Drake and the late rapper born Jahseh Onfroy, who was shot and killed in 2018.

He attempted to subpoena the “God’s Plan” rapper last month to support this assertion. Drake was supposed to take a deposition on January 27, but according to a court document obtained by Billboard, he was absent. As a result, Drake has been told to appear for a deposition by Zoom video on February 24. He could be held in contempt if he continues to come up short. An inquiry for a response from a Drake representative was not immediately answered.

XXXtentacion and Drake got into a dispute in 2017 over what XXX thought was a rip-off of his flows from the breakout track “Look at Me!” on Drake’s “KMT,” leading to unfounded claims that Drake was involved in the murder. One year after the controversy, XXX posted a story on his Instagram account, saying, “If anyone tries to kill me, it was @champagnepapi.” After that, XXXtentacion claimed his account had been hacked; however, he was assassinated four months later in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
