AKA Murder: Burna Boy Expresses Shock, “Hopes” The Culprit Is Apprehended

Burna Boy, an Afrobeats entertainer, has turned to social media to mourn South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, alias AKA, who was shot dead by an unidentified assailant on February 10.

Burna Boy resorted to Instagram stories to share an unreleased single in which he sang about the artiste’s tragic passing. He also remembered when he recommended AKA to buy a gun after the latter called him “crazy(wild)” for holding one.

He wrote, “WTF is all of that about? I just heard he died; seen that video at that restaurant. Took me out of a positive mood/ Took me back to that day when you saw my gun, and you said I was wild/ Then I told you you should have one too,”

The “Last Last” singer also expressed hope that those responsible for AKA’s death would be apprehended. He wrote, “I hope they catch whoever did you wicked/ I hope you rest in peace, even though we ain’t kick it/ At the end of the day we some grown ass ni**az.”

Kieran Forbes was shot dead by a yet-to-be-identified suspect at close range outside a restaurant he was meeting friends in Durban. It is said that his late girlfriend, who AKA said committed suicide, was a native of Durban, and security officials are yet to announce if this was a revenge hit on the Star or unrelated.
