First Sphere Show Of 2024 Sees U2 Render Sensational Cover Of Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’

On January 26, 2024, U2 took the stage for their first concert of the year as part of their Sphere residency. The Sphere is a massive, futuristic venue in Las Vegas where U2 has performed since October 2023. Due to popular demand, the band has extended their residency, and they are scheduled to continue playing at the venue until March of the current year. To celebrate the start of the 2024 leg of their residency, U2 performed a unique acoustic cover of Crowded House’s classic hit ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’. The song was a tribute to the Australian band’s frontman Neil Finn, his brother Tim Finn, and their mother, Mary, who have been longtime creative collaborators with U2.

The concert was a spectacular event that showcased the band’s incredible musicianship and energy. U2 recently shared a video of one of their performances at the Sphere, featuring a live version of their hit song ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’. This song was initially released on their 1991 album ‘Achtung Baby’ and has been a staple of their live shows ever since.

Aside from their residency, U2 is also working on a new album. In a November interview, lead singer Bono revealed that the record is “somewhat tied” to the medical status of drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who is currently recovering from neck surgery. Despite this setback, the band is determined to create a new album that features “unreasonable guitar” and “big choruses.” Fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the release of this new record.
