Hilda Baci’s Unprecedented Cooking Marathon Earns Guinness World Record

A Culinary Marathon for the Record Books

In a remarkable feat of culinary endurance, Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has officially been recognized by the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. The record-breaking marathon, which lasted an impressive 93 hours and 11 minutes, has put Baci and Nigerian cuisine firmly on the global map.

Baci’s marathon began on May 11 and continued through to May 15, during which she prepared a variety of dishes non-stop. The event was so popular that it caused the Guinness World Records’ website to crash for two days due to the immense volume of traffic from her legion of fans.

However, the journey to this achievement was not without its challenges. An Abuja restaurant, Vibe by Anns, threatened a lawsuit against Baci for breach of a signed agreement for a meet-and-greet session. The restaurant claimed that Baci had charged N25,000 for personal meetups, live cooking, and food tasting in Abuja on June 24, 2023. Baci denied these allegations and cancelled the meet-and-greet session, stating that she did not ask anyone to pay such an amount of money.

Despite these hurdles, Baci’s achievement has been celebrated by many, with fans and fellow chefs alike expressing their admiration for her dedication and skill. The Guinness World Records’ confirmation of her record has been described as ‘the best news ever’ by Baci herself.

In the wake of her achievement, Baci’s record has sparked a renewed interest in Nigerian cuisine and has inspired many aspiring chefs to push the boundaries of their culinary skills. As the world continues to celebrate her achievement, Baci’s record-breaking cooking marathon serves as a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and the love of food.

This news comes after a thorough review of all the evidence by the Guinness World Records, confirming that Baci has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon. The 26-year-old Nigerian chef’s achievement has not only put her in the record books but has also put Nigerian cuisine on the global map.
