Ice Prince Addresses Wizkid’s Claims About Rap; Says “Nigerian Rap Is Up”

Finally, Grammy Award-winning superstar musician Wizkid’s statement that “rap is dead” has drawn criticism from notable Nigerian hip-hop artist Ice Prince. Rap is still alive and thriving in Nigeria, according to Ice Prince, who tweeted his disagreement with Wizkid’s assertion. Rap music is becoming increasingly popular among young people, and he emphasized how many outstanding rappers are coming up in Nigeria’s music scene. Ice Prince also highlighted the significance of accepting a variety of genres and valuing diversity in the music business.

In contrast to popular belief, the master rapper asserted that Nigerian rap is still relevant and active. He wouldn’t take “nonsense” from anyone who dared to think otherwise. Ice Prince further mentioned big names like Phyno, Blaqbonez, Erigga, Olamide, Zlatan, and Falz as fellow hip-hop artists driving the genre forward and ensuring that rap continues to expand. Along with their talent, he underlined that these musicians are committed to developing the genre’s borders and giving Nigerian rap a new outlook. Ice Prince states their involvement is essential to preserving Nigerian rap’s popularity and vitality worldwide.

He wrote;
