Lil Nas X Readies For New Album; Recreates Jesus On The Cross in New Single Art, Dedicates Song “To Christ”

Lil Nas X, the chart-topping pop star, is all set to release a new song titled “J. Christ” on January 12th, which is expected to be part of his sophomore album. The song announcement has piqued the curiosity of his fans, especially after he teased an acoustic song on Twitter last November, asking if he could enter his “Christian era.” This clip showed Nas dancing on an empty street, wearing a T-shirt that read, “If God doesn’t exist, then who’s laughing at you?”

In a press release, Nas portrays himself as Jesus on the cross in the single artwork.

My new single is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time!”

Lil Nas X’s last performance in 2018, where he rode a stripper pole into hell and sat on the Devil’s lap, fueled plenty of controversy. In some religious circles, Lil Nas X has become the poster child of what’s wrong with the secular left. However, despite the criticisms, the pop star claims that his religious turn isn’t just for publicity. It’s unclear if the acoustic song he teased on Twitter is “J. Christ” or whether it will make it to his upcoming album. Nonetheless, fans eagerly await the release of “J. Christ,” which is expected to come with a music video.
