Mayorkun Links Up With Victor Osimhen In Naples
Recently, Mayorkun, a Nigerian singer also known as Mayor of Lagos, traveled to Naples, Italy, where he met football sensation Victor Osimhen, a player for Italian Seria A team Napoli. Mayorkun uploaded images and a video of him and Osimhen in a post on his official Instagram account. Mayorkun could be seen evaluating Osimhen’s football abilities in the video.
The singer continued by thanking Osimhen for the great hospitality and treatment he received while he was there. Responding to Mayor’s post, Osimhen said he was happy to see and link with the Afrobeats singer. This is fresh off Osimhen’s history-making win at the Serie A league.
Through his equalizing goal against Udinese in the second half, Victor Osimhen helped Napoli win the Serie A for the first time in 33 years. The Nigerian helped Napoli cling on and win the Italian league title away from home in Udine by slamming a shot through the crowd following a scramble from a corner kick.
According to ESPN, Osimhen’s strike in the match was his 22nd league goal of the season, making him the top scorer in Serie A and breaking the previous record for the most goals scored by an African player in the Italian top division in a single season, which the celebrated Samuel Eto’o previously held.
