Missing Rapper Young Capone Has Been Confirmed Dead; Fans React

After allegedly going missing in July, American rapper Young Capone passed away at 35. Aleesha Carter, the rapper’s publicist, shared the news of his passing on Instagram on Tuesday. It is still unknown if the 35-year-old was discovered prior to his passing, even though she did not disclose the cause of death. Young Capone, who was famous for the songs “What It Is,” “Lights, Camera, Action,” “Dope Boy Fashion,” and other songs, has passed away at the age of 35. On Wednesday, August 16, the rapper’s publicist, Aleesha Carter, announced his passing on Instagram.

The rapper, a Jermaine Dupri protege, was reported missing after being last seen in Chicago. In Carter’s statement, the cause of death was not mentioned. After learning of Young Capone’s passing, Dupri posted a photo of the rapper on Instagram and added four dove emojis to the caption. He also tagged the late musician’s Instagram account. He also used the rapper’s “I’m Hot” collaboration with Daz Dillinger as the post’s soundtrack.

Rodriguez Smith, better known by his stage name Capone, became well-known in East Atlanta’s underground hip-hop scene in the middle of the 2000s. Before signing with Dupri’s So So Def record label, he worked on the material with Daz Dillinger and Dupri. After signing, he announced “Lights, Camera, Action” in 2006. He issued two mixtapes under the Young Capone alias; Look Who’s Back (2010) and Paper and Politics (2011). He worked with the Hustle Gang collective on their 2017 album. We Want Smoke under the alias Dopeboy Ra. SlumMade 2.0, Capone’s last product, was made available in December. Rodriguez Smith, also known as Capone, went missing in Chicago in July.
