A video of Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile at a nightclub prompted suspicions of a rift between the two close friends. Naira, who had arrived with Zinoleesky, had already met Zlatan inside, and there was an exchange of handshakes. The ‘Soapy’ hitmaker greeted others in the vicinity of the Lagos Anthem singer but did not look him in the eyes.
When the Zanku crooner extended his hand to shake the Marlian president’s hand, he turned away and pretended not to notice. Zlatan, who had been puffing air into a balloon, continued as if nothing had happened.
Marley’s reported dispute comes just two weeks after he opened his music label to a new artist. Naira Marley’s record label has announced the recruitment of new talent. On June 6, 2023, he revealed this on his social media channels. The signee’s name is Vusic, and he can be seen singing along to what appears to be his debut track in a video shared by Naira Marley.
Vusic would be integrating with Naira Marley and Street-Pop sensation Zinoleesky on the Marlian Records roster, with the label intending to recreate the success of its other performers with him. Vusic’s signing follows the dramatic exit of Mohbad from Marlian Music.
