Paramore Share On Being “Label-free” In Exclusive Interview

Paramore, the well-known American rock band, has recently shared more details about their upcoming plans, giving fans a glimpse into what they can expect from the group. The band has expressed their desire to surprise their fans with their next release, sharing that they’re eager to create something surpassing their previous work. Towards the end of 2023, the band admitted they were uncertain about their future after fulfilling their contractual obligations with Atlantic, their former label. This followed the release of their final album under their contract, ‘This Is Why.’ Fans were left wondering whether the band would continue to create music together. Soon after, the band wiped all their social media accounts, leaving fans in suspense.

However, in February of the following year, Paramore’s frontwoman Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro confirmed they were “freshly independent” and would continue to make music together. They also revealed that they would be this year’s ambassadors for Record Store Day, a celebration of independent music stores on April 20. Williams recently shared her thoughts on the band’s creative process, explaining that they’re motivated to create music that will surprise and delight their fans. In a recent interview with Brooklyn Vegan, she spoke candidly about the band’s mindset when creating new music, stating that they’re focused on pushing the boundaries and exploring new sounds.

As part of their involvement in Record Store Day, the band has announced the release of an exclusive limited-edition 12″ vinyl, which will feature David Byrne covering their track ‘Hard Times’ on the A-side and their cover of Talking Heads’ ‘Burning Down The House’ on the B-side. According to Alternative Press, the vinyl will be a “minimal run exclusive for Record Store Day in 2024,” making it a must-have for Paramore fans. In addition to their upcoming music releases, Paramore will join Taylor Swift on the European leg of her ‘Eras’ tour, which starts with a show at LA Défense Arena in Paris next month. Fans of the band can look forward to seeing them perform live and hearing the new music they have for their listeners.
