Ruger Seeks Conflict Resolution Between Burna Boy, Davido And Wizkid By Advocating For A Collaboration

Nigerian musician Michael Olayinka—better known by his stage name, Ruger—has spurred intrigue inside the music business by suggesting a collaboration between Afrobeat icons Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

On Wednesday, May 1, Ruger offered the idea as a guest on Madame Joyce’s Cocktails and Takeaways podcast, promoting the concept of a collaborative effort on a single and a world tour that would involve the three of them working together. Ruger’s offer comes at a time when Davido and Wizkid are very tense, as seen by a flurry of acerbic online interactions.

Ruger believes that cooperation might be a unifying factor in the industry, even in spite of the ongoing rivalry. Ruger went on to explain during his podcast interview that he and fellow musician BNXN could write the songs, while Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy would take care of the performing.

Within the music community, there is still theories and disagreement regarding the prospect of a collaborative effort including three of Nigeria’s finest musicians in line with Ruger’s request for their collaboration. Obviously, Ruger practices what he preaches as he and former rival, BNXN, recently squashed their beef to work together on a joint hit EP, “RnB,” which was released a few weeks back.
