Skepta Reveals The Release Date For His First Directorial Venture

Skepta, a British-Nigerian rapper, has revealed the date of his first feature film.

Skepta has recently revealed that the opening night of his film “Tribal Mark” will take place at Everyman Cinema on January 26. The film, which was produced by Skepta’s production company 1PLUS1 in association with Dwight Okechukwu, depicts the moving experience of a Nigerian immigrant coming to terms with life abroad.

The plot also explores the world of a Black Secret Service undercover agent. A wide range of up-and-coming Black actors are in the cast, Jude Carmichael as Young Mark, the movie’s main character. The rapper has revealed both his directorial debut and his musical comeback with his first single, “Gas Me Up,” which will be published on the same day as the movie “Tribal Mark,” which is taken from his upcoming studio album “Knife and Fork.”

It has already caused discussion online before the release of his upcoming album. After it was claimed that Skepta’s new song, Gas Me Up (Diligent), made reference to the Holocaust, the rapper issued an apology and removed the artwork.

The image showed a group of bald-headed males, one of them had the words “Gas Me Up” tattooed on his scalp. Soon after, people started to associate the picture with the horrific murders of Jews in Nazi extermination camps during World War Two.
