The Children’s Hospital Of Los Angeles Gala Included A 40-Minute Performance By Justin Timberlake

On Saturday night, a large number of supporters attended the 2022 Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Gala. Celebrities including Chris Pine and Jimmy Kimmel attended to celebrate the hospital’s lifesaving work, dance the night away, and, of course, take in Justin Timberlake’s one-night-only performance.

The event, which Pine and his father Robert Pine held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, was the hospital’s first live gala since 2018 after the 2020 affair had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Paul S. Viviano, CEO of CHLA, told reporters on the red carpet that it was the hospital’s busiest night ever.

Also driving Timberlake’s performance was DeLoach. The two met at a casting camp and were friends before both joining “The Mickey Mouse Club” more than thirty years ago. DeLoach claimed that all she needed to do was phone him to persuade him to perform.

During his 40-minute performance, which was jam-packed with his greatest hits including “Suit and Tie” and “Seorita,” Timberlake layered in a variety of covers, ranging from Smokey Robinson’s “Cruisin'” to Al Green’s “Love and Happiness,” to give the track list a unique flavor.

More than $5.5 million was finally raised for the hospital, whose objective was dear to many in attendance, including actor Nikki DeLoach, who serves as the board chair of the foundation.
