Coldplay Announces 25th Anniversary Edition Of ‘Brothers & Sisters’

Coldplay, the Grammy-award-winning British rock band, has announced the release of a special 25th-anniversary vinyl edition of their debut EP, ‘Brothers & Sisters’. This special edition vinyl is a celebration of the band’s early years and a nod to their success as one of the most influential bands of the 21st century. Originally released on April 26, 1999, via Fierce Panda, the two-song EP contained ‘Brothers & Sisters’ as the lead single, with ‘Easy to Please’ featured as the B-side. The EP marked the beginning of Coldplay’s journey to stardom, and over the years, it has become a sought-after collector’s item.

The newly released gatefold double BioVinyl seven-inch record will feature all three tracks from the EP, including the previously unreleased track ‘Only Superstition’. This special edition vinyl will be made using a new and environmentally conscious process called BioVinyl, which uses a sustainable material derived from waste products from the paper-making process. The BioVinyl process is a step towards a cleaner and greener future, and Coldplay’s decision to use this process for their special edition vinyl shows their commitment to environmental sustainability.

In addition to the three original tracks, the EP will feature a new spoken-word addition called ‘The Story of Brothers & Sisters’, a bonus fourth track on the record. This spoken-word addition is an excerpt from the audiobook ‘Pandamonium! How Not to Run a Record Label’ by Fierce Panda founder Simon Williams. The audiobook is a collection of anecdotes and observations from Simon Williams about the music industry and is a fascinating insight into the world of indie record labels.

The special edition vinyl will be presented in a high-quality gatefold sleeve and include an exclusive poster. The gatefold sleeve features rare and previously unseen photos of the band taken during the EP recording sessions. The exclusive poster, designed by the band’s longtime collaborator, Paris-based artist Matias Aguayo, is a must-have for any Coldplay fan. This limited-edition release is a fantastic opportunity for fans of Coldplay and vinyl collectors alike to enjoy the band’s early works especially. The attention to detail and commitment to sustainability make this special edition vinyl a unique and valuable addition to any record collection.
