The Weeknd And Moses Sumney Drop Soundtrack Songs For HBO’s ‘The Idol’ Episode 3

The Weeknd has unveiled a fresh batch of songs from the third episode of HBO’s The Idol. Moses Sumney wrote and performed one of them, the song “Get It B4,”. “A Lesser Man” and “Take Me Back,” which The Weeknd co-wrote with Mike Dean, have also been available. Here also, The Weeknd performs the most current Idol single, “Family,” in Stockholm with co-star Suzanna Son. Jason “DaHeala” Quenneville is also present.

In the movie The Idol, Sumney plays Izaak, a musician and Tedros’ devoted disciple, played by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. Troye Sivan, Jennie from Blackpink, Mike Dean, and other musicians appear in the contentious six-episode series.

The Idol, Vol. 1, released on June 30th, has already seen The Weeknd share several tracks from the album. His “World Class Sinner / I’m a Freak” single, which features Lily-Rose Depp as the lead pop star Jocelyn, was released earlier this month. Along with “Family,” his duet with Future on “Double Fantasy,” and “Popular,” which features Madonna and Playboi Carti, The Weeknd also contributed the song “The Lure,” which serves as the show’s theme song.

The Weeknd’s “A Lesser Man” and “Take Me Back,” as well as Sumney’s “Get It B4,” were featured on Sunday’s program. Even after three episodes, the show is still criticized for its use of sexist language and Tedros, played by The Weeknd, for having a “creepy” air. Tedros’ physical appearance and behavior were designed to repel viewers, according to the founder of XO Records and co-creator of the show, who recently stated that the unpleasant and viral sequences are “intentional to heighten the camp of it all.”

The Weeknd said,

“But the reality is, there’s nothing really mysterious or hypnotizing about him. And we did that on purpose with his look, his outfits, his hair—the guy’s a douchebag,” “You can tell he cares so much about what he looks like, and he thinks he looks good. But then you see these weird moments of him alone—he rehearses, he’s calculated. And he needs to do that, or he has nothing, he’s pathetic. Which is true of a lot of people who are a fish out of water, put into these scenarios.”
