Travis Scott’s “UTOPIA” Certified Double Platinum, As Fans Question Grammy Decision

Officially, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA has been certified a double platinum record. The feature-rich project remained at No. 17 on the most recent chart after spending four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Album 200. The album was sure to reach the next coveted certification milestone sooner rather than later and fans continue to react to the news on social media as they give rare praise for the album, which many expected to dominate awards shows and charts at the time of its release.

However, among Scott’s devoted following, the news has caused some unhappiness, though this time directed towards the final results of the just concluded Grammy Awards, which have continued to be seen as controversial, especially as many of the awardees weren’t expected. Fans bemoaned the fact that UTOPIA somehow failed to win the Grammy for “Best Rap Album” against Killer Mike’s ‘Michael’ in the comments section of the social media posts that broke the news. The fans pointed out that despite his high acclaim and clear Grammy-worthy status, Michael’s highest position on the Billboard list was No. 58, while Travis Scott has broken into the top 20.
