Travis Scott’s “Utopia” Reaches Platinum Status In Less Than A Month

Travis Scott made a strong statement with the release of UTOPIA, and the top-selling album recently turned platinum, extending his record-breaking reign. According to TMZ, the album has sold over one million copies since its July 28 release. One important aspect in UTOPIA’s platinum status is that the Houston native just sold the most vinyl LPs for a rap album.

According to Chart Data, the album had “the biggest vinyl sales week for a rap album in Nielsen history,” selling 93,000 copies and shattering its own record. Furthermore, Travis Scott recently broke Drake’s Spotify record for the most monthly listeners by a rapper on the streaming service.

On August 17, Chart Data stated that La Flame had the highest monthly listener count in Spotify history, with 74.945 million monthly listeners. Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West, to mention a few, have also had the largest peak of monthly listeners on the site. Over the last year, the Astroworld artist has shattered countless records.

He smashed BTS’s record for the most merchandise sales when performing in the United Kingdom in 2022. According to TMZ, Travis Scott sold over $1 million in merchandise at his sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena.

Travis Scott’s merchandise was created specifically for his August 2022 appearances at the O2 Arena, which marked his first headline performance since his catastrophic Astroworld Festival performance.
