Tyler, The Creator Named Top-Selling Male Artist On Vinyl In 2023

Tyler, The Creator has now added another achievement to his resume having been named the greatest-selling male artist on vinyl in 2023. The former frontman of Odd Future sold an amazing 552,000 copies on the format in the United States last year, according to Chart Data.

With 474,000 vinyl sales, Travis Scott ranked No. 4 on the list; other rappers Kendrick Lamar (No. 6, 382,000) and the late Mac Miller (No. 10, 354,000) were also in the top 10. None, though, could match pop sensation Taylor Swift, who in 2023 sold an incredible 3.484 million vinyl records.

Swift accounted for one out of every fifteen vinyl purchases on the format, making her the best-selling artist. Tyler, The Creator, who won the title in back-to-back years after having the best-selling vinyl rap album in 2022, expressed his gratitude to his followers on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram for “keeping physical media alive.”

As he usually does every two years throughout his career, the Grammy Award-winner decided to support his 2021 LP Call Me If You Get Lost with a deluxe edition called The Estate Sale, rather than putting out a new album this year.

The eight-track record, which was released in March, had production from Madlib and Kanye West along with collaborations with YG, Vince Staples, and A$AP Rocky. Within a few weeks of its debut, Tyler was awarded another platinum plaque by The Estate Sale, which helped Call Me If You Get Lost surpass one million copies sold.
