Wizkid Cancels His Retirement Plans And Teases The Release Of His Sixth Album As He Celebrates His 33rd Birthday

As he celebrates his 33rd birthday, Grammy Award-winning Nigerian musician Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, reconsiders retirement. During an interview with Manny Norte of Capital Extra, the subject of his retirement came up.

The interviewer brought up their earlier meeting, at which Wizkid informed him that he would have ‘enough music to retire’ on the occasion of his 33rd birthday, which fell on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Wizkid reportedly bragged about having an extensive musical catalog that would allow him to retire.

Wiz said, “Come on, my brother. And we are still recording music everyday [laughs] . So, imagine how much music I have now.”

During the discussion, the ‘Essence’ singer informed his fans all over the world that he is set to release his sixth studio album.

“I got a new album ready, bro. New Wiz’s album. I’m dropping a new song next week. In a couple of days, mehn,” announced Wiz.

Wiz celebrated his birthday on Monday, July 17, to an outpouring of congratulations and encomiums from his admirers all over the world. Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is regarded as an afrobeat music pioneer who has achieved numerous milestones in his remarkable career.
