Wizkid Renames Himself After Selling Out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Nigerian musician Wizkid boldly referred to himself as the “Grand Dad” and the “Popsi” after giving a legendary performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The unforgettable incident occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at his concert, “More Love Less Ego,” which was hosted at the Spurs stadium in London.

The momentous occasion was joyfully celebrated by fans and music lovers. Since Wizkid was the first and only African artist to headline and perform at the prestigious venue, this historic performance has left its mark on the African music scene.

The multi-platinum-selling Bigwiz, a stage name he recently adopted, performed, solidifying his place as one of the most celebrated African singers of all time. His performance skillfully incorporated R&B, Hip-hop, and Afrobeat, sparking the audience’s fervor and producing thunderous applause and an overpowering sense of satisfaction.

The self-assured singer was seen bragging about being the Grand Dad and Popsi in a later-discovered clip, albeit he did not identify the precise people he was alluding to.

But in yet another video of him relaxing backstage after his insane show, he referred to himself as the “Gen Z OG.” Meanwhile, contradictory comments have continued to trail the landmark concert as Davido and Burnaboy’s supporters allege the concert was not a sold-out one as is being claimed.
