Yo Gotti’s Brother “Big Jook” Is Dead; Shot, Killed In Memphis
Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims, the brother of Yo Gotti, was shot and died this past weekend. It’s been verified. The rapper’s older sibling was shot and killed on Saturday in Memphis, close to Winchester Road, according to sources with firsthand knowledge. According to accounts, he had attended a local funeral ceremony before the murder. Online videos and images appear to show Jook bleeding on the ground while being attended to by people. Although the specifics of the shooting remain unknown, Jook’s death has been confirmed. Big Jook was very close to his well-known brother; he seems to be associated with the Collective Music Group label owned by Gotti, formally endorsing musicians under the label’s banner and appearing in music videos. Jook seemed more focused on the business side, though.
He mentioned this in one of his final Instagram stories on Saturday when he was paying tribute to a deceased relative. Tragically, he was killed during a period of grieving. Gotti hasn’t officially addressed his brother’s death, so it’s unclear if he was with Jook when the killing occurred. The idea that this has something to do with Young Dolph’s 2021 murder is another aspect of this. That is the prevailing conjecture on the internet, nonetheless. It’s no secret that Gotti and Dolph were at odds. Many now believe that this may be related.
According to reports, fearing potential reprisals, police had raced to Gotti’s Memphis eatery shortly after the Young Dolph was shot and killed outside of a cookie store. It’s also important to remember that Gotti’s establishment is located on the same street as Jook’s murder. Furthermore, this is not too far from the scene of Dolph’s murder.
Gotti’s crew has not yet provided a formal statement. But Memphis police have a lead in the Big Jook shooting after releasing pictures of a white Ford Explorer they think the rapper’s killers may have driven. They’re asking for help from the public and offering a $4,000 reward for information that leads to the vehicle’s identification.
