Annie Macaulay-Idibia Biography
Although Annie Idibia was born in Ibadan on November 13, 1984, her family hails from Eket in Akwa Ibom State. After her parents’ divorce, she relocated to Lagos with her mother and siblings. She graduated from the University of Lagos and Lagos State University with theatre arts and computer science degrees.

Parents
While her father worked at Mobil, her mother stayed home to raise the family. She had a parental divorce when she was around ten years old. Her mother found a job as a cook at Mobil while taking the kids to stay with her. The family remained in Ibadan for a while before moving, first to Jakande Estate and eventually to Thomas Estate in Lekki, Lagos. Her parents reconciled after her father’s sickness, and her mother returned to him. He passed away from cancer in 2019.
Siblings
She was the third of four children and had three brothers as siblings. In 2002, she lost her younger sibling, Emmanuel, to TB. Uduak and Wisdom are her other brothers. Due to the recent strain in their relationship, Annie has not had an easy time with her siblings. In 2021, Annie and her older brother Uduak got into an online argument, resulting in Uduak “disowning” Annie for reasons that have not yet been made public but are undoubtedly familial.
Annie also had online outbursts with her other brother Wisdom. It is said that the bad blood resulted from Annie’s refusal to have her brother act as her manager. The back-and-forth between the two siblings was a sorry sight for netizens. Each camp’s allegations dished out to public knowledge became topics for discussion/gossip amongst circles who stood for or against Annie.
Annie Idibia responded to Wisdom’s claims and allegation in a post of her own, where she accused him of gross irresponsibility and entitlement.
Children
Annie Idibia gave birth to her 1st child, a daughter named Isabel Idibia, in December 2008 and her second, Olivia Idibia, on January 3, 2014.

Annie Macaulay–Idibia is married to 2face Idibia, with whom she has two children. The couple began dating in 2002 and has been together on and off until their wedding, primarily due to 2baba’s infidelity. Annie Idibia’s wedding to 2Baba took place in 2013, and it was a destination wedding in Dubai after an elaborate one was held in Lagos in 2012.

Before beginning her acting career, Annie Idibia competed in the “Queen of All Nations Beauty Pageant,” finishing second. She also appeared cameo in the video for 2face Idibia’s song “African Queen.” Annie accepted many acting and modeling opportunities that came her way before she became a well-known Nollywood celebrity. She received fees ranging from 2000 to 5000, but she never gave up and kept pushing for her success. Her more well-known employers included Dakota and KC Jabari.
Her performances in the movies “Pleasure and Crime” and “Blackberry Babes” propelled her Nollywood career to notoriety. After that, she rose to fame thanks to her parts in “Beautiful Monster” and “Morning After Dark.”
In 2009, she was nominated for the Best of Nollywood Awards’ Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she won the Fast Rising Actress award at the 2016 African Entertainment Legend Awards. She expressed her delight at appearing on the cover of the Glamour South Africa magazine’s March issue.
On March 18, 2022, Annie Macaulay-Idibia and her husband, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, made their Netflix debut in the African reality series Young, Famous & African. Other African celebrities on the show were Diamond Platnumz, Naked DJ, Nadia Nakai, Swanky Jerry, Andile Ncube, and Kayleigh Schwark. She runs the faux-cruelty-free eyelash brand Lashed by Annie Idibia and is CEO of the BeOlive wig and hair extension company. Additionally, Annie Idibia also owns a hair salon in Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to being a prosperous businesswoman, Annie founded the Annie Idibia Care Foundation, a non-profit. Its goals include assisting young women in becoming responsible, engaged citizens and teaching them how to prepare for adulthood.
