Bimbo Oshin Biography
Oshin was born in Ondo State, southwest Nigeria, on July 24, 1971. Oshin was raised in Ondo State, where she attended Saint Anne’s Primary School for her elementary schooling. She subsequently attended Staff Primary School in Ife, Osun State. She received secondary education at Girls Academy, Sandgrouse, in Lagos State. Oshin continued her education by enrolling in the University of Lagos, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy.

She is one of Pa Olasanmi Theophilus Oshin’s eight children, the second to last. More detailed information about her parents isn’t available to the media, and she tries to keep her family away from the press if possible. Oshin’s love for acting began at a tender age. She has been doing some minor drama in the house with her elder sibling in which they recorded their pseudo videos. But her career in acting started initially during her undergraduate days at the University of Lagos. Her friend’s sister introduced her to a group called “Ara Osan” group. She told her she had joined and she should follow her too. Oshin agreed, joined the group (Ara Osan) in 1996, and started going for rehearsals. Rasaq Ajao owns the Ara Osan theatre group, and she spent four years under her boss.
Although she started a movie career with English soap operas right now, she is in the Yoruba movie industry and doing well. Oshin commenced her acting career in 1996 but rose to recognition after starring in a 2012 Yoruba film titled “Omo Elemosho.” The first movie released, which made her famous, was titled “Akobi” in 1997. In 2001, the eminent performer co-starred with Sola Sobowale, Bukky Wright, Antar Laniyan, and many other renowned actors in the TV episode “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!” from Wale Adenuga’s Super Story.
Two years later, Bimbo Oshin produced the Yoruba movie Eji Owuro. She starred alongside Fausat Balogun, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Abraham, and other well-known actors in the 2012 Yoruba film Omo Elemosho. Additionally, Bimbo Oshin contributed to the 2020 hit movie “Kakanfo.”
2016 she was honored with an Icon Category Award at the 2016 Afro-Heritage Broadcasting and Entertainment Awards. She was also recognized at the Yoruba Movies Academy Awards, with nominations at the Best Actress in a Leading Role category, City People Entertainment Awards for Best Actress of the Year (Yoruba), and ZAFAA African Film Academy Awards for Best Female Indigenous Actor.
